Appeal to the German Government and Parliament
We, the undersigned Councillors of the World Future Council, congratulate you on committing to phase outnuclear power in Germany and for the successful promotion of renewable energy production, which has become a role model for other countries throughout the world.At the same time, we find it improper and unjust for Germany, through its export credit agency, Hermes, to support the construction of nuclear power plants in Brazil.The decision to abandon nuclear power in Germany was made because the dangers to German citizens were considered to be unacceptable. If unacceptable for German citizens, how can it be acceptable for Germany to export these dangers to citizens of any other country?
