Advocacy “E-waste in Ghana. Following our E-waste”

Civil society proposals in support of the 13th Carmignac Photojournalism Award

This advocacy document outlines the social, environmental, and health issues caused by the pollution from our electronic waste sent to Ghana. Twelve proposals have been established to act comprehensively and insightfully, structured around three main areas:

  • Understanding and identifying the mechanisms of legal and illegal e-waste trade in Ghana ;
  • Acting on overall consumption ;
  • Limiting the impact.

Referencing the 2024 Unitar Report “The Global E-Waste Monitor” (www.globalewaste.org), supplemented by testimonies from the 2024 Carmignac Photojournalism Award winners, this document aims to raise awareness among civil society as well as national and international authorities to take tangible action.
